What Materials and Tools Do You Need?

Before starting the installation, gather all necessary materials and tools. Having everything ready will make the process more efficient and prevent any interruptions.

• Materials Needed:
  • Solar street light kit (including light fixture, solar panel, battery package)
  • Pole (height and material depend on your needs)
  • Anchor Bolts and nuts for securing poles
  • Concrete mix for making the base.

  • Monkey wrench 
  • Allen wrench  Or Power tool sets
  • Crane for hanging the poles
  • Shovel for digging the foundation hole  

How to Choose the Right Location?

Selecting the ideal location is crucial for the optimal performance of your solar streetlight. Here are some factors to consider:

• Sunlight Exposure: Choose a spot that receives ample sunlight throughout the day to ensure the solar panel can charge the battery efficiently.
• Area Coverage: Ensure the light covers the desired area adequately, providing sufficient illumination for safety and visibility.
• Avoiding Obstructions: Place the light away from tall buildings, trees, or other structures that may cast shadows on the solar panel.

Procedures for Solar Street Light Installation 

1. Prepare the Foundation 

Proper site preparation is essential for a stable and durable installation. Follow these steps:

•    Dig the Foundation Hole:  Dig a hole that is deep and wide enough to accommodate the concrete base to fix the pole to provide stability. The depth typically ranges from 700mm to 1500mm, and the profile size ranges from 500 x 500mm to 600x 600mm, depending on the pole height.  

• Place the anchor bolts into the hole:  wrap the threading and nuts with tape to avoid attaching concrete.
• Set Up the Concrete Base: Mix the concrete according to the instructions and pour it into the hole.  
• Allow the Concrete to Cure: Let the concrete cure for at least 3days to ensure the anchor bolts are firmly in place. 

2. Mounting the Solar Panel and Light fixture

Mounting the solar panel correctly ensures it captures maximum sunlight.

• Attach the Solar Panel to the bracket: Place the Solar Panel on the Solar Bracket and secure it with bolts. Solar Panels should be handled with care.
  
• Uplift the top end of the pole and place it on a supporting bench.
  
• Mount the bracket with a solar panel onto the pole top:  Attach the solar panel mounting bracket to the pole, and rotate the sleeve to adjust the angle of the solar panel.  Connect the cable on the Solar Panels to the plug on the battery package.

•  Install the Light Fixture to the lamp arm:  Follow the wiring diagram to connect the cable on light fixture to the controller that built-in the battery package. Ensure all connections are tight and secure to prevent any electrical issues. 
  
• Check the connection: Check installation and connections to confirm that everything is in the right place.  
  
• Test the Solar Street Light system: Turn on the light and check if it operates correctly, you just need to cover the solar panel with cardboard or other things to see if the light is working (charging during the day and illuminating at night.)

3. Installation of the Pole 

With the foundation set, and concrete base dried in 3 days, the next step is to install the pole securely.

• Erect the Pole:   Use a crane to erect the street lamp pole.  Place the pole onto the concrete base, ensuring the 4 bolts thread the holes on the plate of poles. Then rotate the pole slightly to adjust the direction of lights, ensuring the light arm is vertical to the road. 
  
• Secure the Pole: Use bolts and nuts to secure the pole to the base, tightening them with a Monkey wrench. 

 Congratulations! Now that your solar street light has been erected and installed. Over the next few days, monitor the light’s performance to ensure it functions as intended and make any additional tweaks if necessary.
